The Manitoba Moose Hockey Club and TSN 1290 announced today an extension of their partnership that will see TSN 1290 continue to deliver comprehensive live radio coverage of the Moose throughout the American Hockey League season. The extension covers the Moose for the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 seasons.

“TSN 1290 has done a great job keeping our community connected to the Manitoba Moose,” says Dan Hursh, Vice President of Manitoba Moose Operations. “We are very excited to extend our partnership with TSN 1290 to ensure our passionate fans continue to receive the extensive, professional coverage of our Manitoba Moose on both radio and online platforms.”

Live Manitoba Moose broadcasts on TSN 1290 are led by play-by-play announcer Mitch Peacock, who returns for his second season calling Moose games for the team. A veteran of the Winnipeg sports scene, Peacock also provides in-depth analysis, features, and interviews surrounding the team throughout the regular season and playoffs. A seasoned sports broadcaster with over 20 years of experience as a play-by-play announcer, reporter, and anchor, Peacock will also serve as broadcaster for select events at the Olympics this summer taking place in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. This will be Peacock’s second time covering the Olympic Games.

“We are thrilled to extend our successful partnership with the Manitoba Moose on TSN 1290, Winnipeg’s home of hockey,” said Chris Brooke, Program Director, TSN Radio 1290 Winnipeg. “With this extended agreement, Manitoba hockey fans can continue to follow TSN 1290’s comprehensive coverage of the Jets’ highly-touted young prospects hitting the ice with the Moose.”

The Manitoba Moose is the proud AHL affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets and is entering its second season back in Winnipeg after re-locating from St. John’s NL, prior to the 2015-16 season. The Moose enter this season under the guidance of new Head Coach Pascal Vincent. Last season, 10 players who started the year with the Moose were recalled by the Winnipeg Jets including five who made their NHL debuts including Connor Hellebuyck, JC Lipon and Josh Morrissey.
