Moose sign Darcy Murphy

Winnipeg, MB – The Manitoba Moose Hockey Club announced today the team has signed forward Darcy Murphy to a professional tryout agreement.

Murphy, 24, is in his first full year of pro hockey, playing for the Tulsa Oilers (ECHL).  In seven games with Tulsa this season, Murphy has six points (4G, 2A) to go with four penalty minutes.  The 5’10”, 190 lbs forward joined the Elmira Jackals at the end of the 2015-16 season, playing in eight games while registering three points (2G, 1A) and six penalty minutes.

Over his collegiate career, the Marysville, ON product played in 146 games for Colgate University (NCAA), totaling 90 points (48G, 42A) and 164 penalty minutes.  Murphy served as an alternate captain at Colgate in 2015-16.  He totaled 21 points (8G, 13 A) in 37 games as a senior.

The Manitoba Moose host the Cleveland Monsters on Thursday and Saturday this week in a pair of games starting at 7 p.m. CT.  Tickets are available at moosehockey.com/tickets.
