Game preview: Moose @ Stars – Apr. 16

Tonight is the fourth and final meeting between the Stars and the Moose this season. Texas leads the season series 3-0-0-0. The first two games of the season series were decided by one goal, with the Moose picking up a point from a shootout loss on Feb. 10. This is the final regular season game for both teams.

Last Night:

The Moose rallied from a two goal deficit to score five unanswered goals to defeat the San Antonio Rampage 5-2 on the road. Jimmy Lodge scored not only his first career AHL goal but his first three in a natural hat-trick. Jansen Harkins also scored his first career AHL goal, while Scott Kosmachuk had the other goal for the Moose. Connor Hellebuyck made 18 saves in the win.

Moose Coming In:

The Moose have won three straight games as they swept the Rockford IceHogs on Apr. 9 &10 at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg and last night’s win over San Antonio. In their last 10 games the Moose have a record of 6-4-0-0. Since the start of February the Moose sit at .500 with a 14-14-1-1 record.

Texas Coming In:

The Stars have earned at least one point in three out of their last four games and are coming off a 6-5 overtime loss to the San Antonio Rampage this past Wednesday. In their last ten games they are 4-3-3-0.

First, Second & Third for Lodge:

Jimmy Lodge not only recorded his first career AHL goal but his first three with a natural hat-trick including the game winning goal last night in San Antonio. It was the third hat-trick for the Moose this season as Chase De Leo and Patrice Cormier had the others. All three of the hat-tricks have taken place on the road.

Kosy on Fire:

Scott Kosmachuk extended his point streak to three games with a goal and assist last night against San Antonio. It was his third straight multi-point game. He is now tied with Chase De Leo for the team lead in goals with 19. Kosmachuk has two goals and four assists for six points in his last three games.

Point Streak:

Dan DeSalvo extended his point streak to seven games with an assist last night. During his point streak he has two goals and six assists for eight points.

Net Presence:

Connor Hellebuyck made 18 saves in the victory last night and he know has a .500 record on the road. He has won seven of his last nine starts for the Moose.
