Moose ink Desalvo to AHL deal

Winnipeg, MB – The Manitoba Moose Hockey Club announced today the team has signed forward Dan DeSalvo to an American Hockey League contract.

DeSalvo, 24, has appeared in 11 games with the Moose this season while on a professional tryout.  The 5’8”, 171 lbs. forward is second on the team in scoring with 14 points (7G, 7A).  DeSalvo’s seven goals are tied for the team lead. The Bowling Green State University (NCAA) product suited up in 12 games for Manitoba’s ECHL affiliate, the Tulsa Oilers, this season and registered 13 points (6G, 7A).  Last season, DeSalvo totaled 14 points (5G, 9A) in 17 games for the Moose.  The Rolling Meadows, IL native played the bulk of 2015-16 with the Tulsa Oilers where he posted 51 points (16G, 35A) in 55 games.

The Moose are in action this weekend against the Cleveland Monsters at the MTS Centre.  Friday’s contest goes at 7 p.m. CT and Saturday’s Teddy Bear Toss game presented by Red River Co-op is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT.  Tickets are available at moosehockey.com/tickets.
