Moose Reveal 2016-17 Schedule

Winnipeg, MB – The Manitoba Moose, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, announced today the 2016-17 AHL Regular Season schedule.

The Moose begin their season with a pair of road games against the Iowa Wild on Friday, Oct. 14 (7 p.m. CT) and Saturday, Oct. 15 (7 p.m. CT).

The home opener goes Tuesday, Oct. 18 (7 p.m. CT) as Manitoba welcomes the Bakersfield Condors.  The Moose and Condors meet again Thursday, Oct. 20 (7 p.m. CT) as the AHL affiliates of the Winnipeg Jets and Edmonton Oilers ramp things up for the weekend’s 2016 Tim Horton’s Heritage Classic.

Manitoba’s schedule features an increased number of weekend home dates from last season with the Moose playing 24 games on Friday, Saturday or Sunday at MTS Centre.  The Moose open the New Year on home ice, Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, against the Charlotte Checkers.

Fans have the opportunity to see the Moose face-off against a fresh variety of opposition this season as the San Diego Gulls (Oct. 28/29), San Jose Barracuda (Feb. 3/4) and newly minted Tucson Roadrunners (April 7/9) make their first visits to MTS Centre.

Within the Central Division, the Moose take on Iowa, Cleveland, Rockford and Charlotte eight times.  They also draw Chicago, Milwaukee and Grand Rapids four times.  The only Eastern Conference and Canadian opponent the Moose clash with during the regular season is the Toronto Marlies.  The teams meet eight times with their first coming Saturday, Oct. 22 in Toronto.

The Moose play their final home games of the regular season Friday, April 7 and Sunday, April 9, 2017 against Tucson.  They close out the campaign Friday, April 14, 2017 against the Monsters in Cleveland.
