Moose set to battle Bakersfield

By: Manitoba Moose Staff | Published: March 28th 2017

For the first time in 131 days, the Manitoba Moose (24-34-4-5) head to Bakersfield to close out their season series with the Condors (30-23-5-1) tonight at 9 p.m. CT.

Last Game
Manitoba closed out their season long eight-game home stand on Friday (Mar. 24) when they hosted the Milwaukee Admirals on Autism Awareness Night, presented by Red River Co-op and in support of St. Amant’s autism program. Down 3-0 early in the third, Patrice Cormier potted a powerplay marker to pull the Moose within two. Despite a plethora of chances in the dying minutes, Milwaukee hung on for the 3-1 triumph.

Flash Back
The Moose hold a 2-1-0-0 record vs. the Condors with Manitoba snagging one win at home and one on the road. Their last meeting saw Dan DeSalvo tally three points (2G, 1A) in a 4-1 win in Bakersfield on Nov. 16, 2016.

Up To 30
Jack Roslovic's rookie season continues to be a productive first year of pro hockey. The Moose points leader tallied his 30th assist of the season. He's the first rookie on the Winnipeg Jets' AHL affiliate to reach the mark since Brenden Kichton and JC Lipon put up 38 and 32 helpers respectively in the 2013-14 season as members of the St. John's IceCaps.

Back to Cali
The Moose make their return to California after their previous swing back in November. Manitoba has points in three of its last four road games (2-1-0- 1). With an overall road record of 12-17-2-2, the Moose are already two wins ahead of last season's pace away from MTS Centre.

Bakersfield’s Story
The Edmonton Oilers’ AHL affiliate is in a fight for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Pacific Division with nine games to go. Heading into tonight’s action, the Condors sit fourth with a .559 winning percentage, slightly ahead of the Stockton Heat (.525). Bakersfield is on a four game winning streak after sweeping both Tucson and San Diego. The Condors find themselves at or near the top of two important categories – goals against and penalty minutes. They’ve allowed the fourth fewest goals (160) and taken the least penalty minutes (622) in the AHL. Anton Lander heads up the Bakersfield attack with 50 points (23G, 27A) in 33 games.
