Game Story
The Manitoba Moose (23-27-4-4) faced the Milwaukee Admirals (33-18-3-3) in the second game of their three-in-three set Saturday night.   The Moose weathered an early push by the Admirals, and used special teams to come out with a lead in the first.  Manitoba killed off an early penalty and was awarded three straight powerplays later on in the period.  The Moose didn’t connect on the first two, but struck on the third.  Jack Roslovic put a perfect pass to Kyle Connor who knocked in the opener with 2:56 left in the period to take a 1-0 lead to the break.

The middle period was a defensive battle as the Moose locked things down, holding Milwaukee to just four shots.  The Manitoba penalty kill fared well in its only work of the frame, outshooting the Admirals’ powerplay 2-0 on the Milwaukee man advantage.  Brandon Tanev had a pair of close calls around the Milwaukee net.  The first was a shorthanded chance cutting across the crease, the second a wrister from the circle that just missed the far post.  Manitoba carried the 1-0 lead to the third period.

The Moose extended their lead 6:07 into the third as Connor nabbed his second of the night, and ninth in his last five games, tipping a Brian Strait point shot past Marek Mazanec.  The Admirals stormed back after the mid-point of the period.  Matt White prevented a Moose clearing attempt on an Admirals powerplay, walked in and cut the lead to 2-1.  Just 1:32 later, Miikka Salomaki snuck in on a breakaway and used a backhand move to tie the game 2-2.  The teams remained even through regulation.  It only took Mike Ribeiro eight seconds to end the game in overtime, completing the comeback win for Milwaukee by the 3-2 score.
