Strait gets call to Jets

Winnipeg, MB - The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club, in conjunction with its AHL affiliate, the Manitoba Moose, announced today they have recalled defenceman Brian Strait from the Moose.
Strait, 29, has played 50 games with the Moose this season, tallying 12 points (2G, 10A). He was signed by the Jets as a free agent on July 1, 2016 after playing the first six seasons of his NHL career with the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Islanders. He has 27 points (6G, 21A) in 182 NHL games.
A native of Waltham, Mass., Strait was drafted by Pittsburgh in the third round (65th overall) of the 2006 NHL Draft.
