Jets Sign Three Players to Two-Way Contracts

The Winnipeg Jets opened NHL Free Agency by signing four players in the first two days. In addition to goaltender David Rittich, Winnipeg signed three players to two-way contracts including defenceman Kyle Capobianco, forward Alex Limoges and forward Kevin Stenlund.

Capobianco, 24, collected nine points (2G, 7A) in 45 games with the Arizona Coyotes last season. He’s played his entire career with the Coyotes organization, tallying 10 points (3G, 7A) in 59 games with Arizona and 112 points (21G, 91A) in 155 games with the AHL’s Tucson Roadrunners. He was selected to the AHL All-Star Game in 2019 and 2020. Internationally, Capobianco, a product of Mississauga, Ont., has appeared once for Canada, winning a bronze medal at the 2015 U18 World Championship. He was selected in the third round (63th overall) by Arizona in the 2015 NHL Draft.

Limoges, 24, played 62 games for the AHL’s San Diego Gulls in 2021-22 and recorded 40 points (23G, 17A) and 13 penalty minutes. He added two points (1G, 1A) in a pair of playoff games for the Gulls. Limoges, a native of Winchester, Virg., made his professional debut with San Diego in 2020-21 and posted 21 points (11G, 10A) and eight PIMs in 23 games.  Limoges played four seasons for the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Big-10 and recorded 125 points (51G, 74A) and 36 PIMs in 128 career games. He led the nation in points (50) in 2018-19 and his 50 points and 23 goals are the single-season record for Penn State.

Stenlund, 25, played three games for the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2021-22 and had two penalty minutes. The Stockholm, Sweden native also played 42 games for their AHL affiliate, the Cleveland Monsters, and recorded 25 points (8G, 17A) and 20 PIMs.  Stenlund, Columbus’ second round pick (58th overall) in the 2015 NHL Draft, has played 71 games for the Blue Jackets over the last four seasons and posted 20 points (11G, 9A) and 22 PIMs. He featured in two playoff games for Columbus in 201920 and scored a goal. Stenlund has also played 141 career AHL games and has 70 points (29G, 41A) and 60 PIMs.
