Moose complete comeback to sweep Rampage

The Moose put together a big comeback to defeat the San Antonio Rampage 3-2 on Thursday night at the MTS Centre.

After trailing 2-0 midway through the game Manitoba scored three consecutive goals starting with a goal from Patrice Cormier.

Cormier scored his second powerplay goal in as many games with just 1:21 remaining in the second period.

In the final frame, Manitoba catapulted themselves to victory by scoring twice just 42 seconds apart with goals from Captain John Albert, who scored his fourth of the season, followed by Ryan Olsen, who scored his second goal in his last three games.

Brenden Kichton was instrumental in two of the goals picking up two assists for the second straight game and was named the game’s first star.

The Moose scored two powerplays for the second straight game going 2/5 with the man advantage.

Mikko Rantanen scored for the second straight game for the Rampage, while defenceman Nikita Zadorov had the other San Antonio goal.

Eric Comrie made 32 saves in the game to pick up his sixth win of the season. He is now undefeated in his last four starts going 3-0-1.

Manitoba will now head out on the road to face the Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday before facing the Chicago Wolves Monday night in their final game before the holiday break.

The Moose will play their next home games on New Year’s Eve, Thursday, Dec. 31 and on New Year’s Day against the Iowa Wild.
