It was a game the Manitoba Moose had been waiting for against the Lake Erie Monsters all season and on Wednesday night at the MTS Centre it came.

The Moose had a total team effort in a 4-0 victory over their Central Division rivals from Cleveland.

JC Lipon opened the scoring with just 12 seconds remaining in the first period to get the Moose on the board as part of a two point night.

Rookie Chase De Leo had a terrific second period scoring two goals in a 2:15 span to give Manitoba a big lead.

De Leo leads the Moose in goal scoring with 11 and is second on the team in points with 20 in 35 games. He currently sits in a tie for 16th in AHL rookie scoring.

Jiri Fronk scored for the second straight game to finish the scoring for the Moose.

Eric Comrie was excellent in the Moose net once again picking up his first career AHL shutout by making 24 saves.

The Moose will now embark on their longest road trip of the season of eight games against the Charlotte Checkers, Ontario Reign, Stockton Heat and Bakersfield Condors.

It all starts this Saturday, Jan. 16 against Charlotte at 5 p.m. CT.
