The Manitoba Moose (23-40-3-3) close out their home calendar tonight against the Iowa Wild (27-36-5-1). Puck drop at Canada Life Centre is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT. The Moose dropped a 3-1 decision to the Wild last night, their sixth consecutive defeat. The Iowa victory marked down as the fifth in the past six games for the Wild. Iowa holds a 5-4-1-0 record over its past 10 games.

That’s A Lot of Games
Ashton Sautner comes into tonight’s action with 499 professional games to his name. A total of 476 of those games are in the AHL split between the Moose (195), Abbotsford Canucks (41) and Utica Comets (240). While 23 contests came in the NHL with the Vancouver Canucks. The Flin Flon, Man. product has 94 points (23G, 7A) in his 476 AHL contests and three assists in his 23 NHL games. Sautner made his professional debut with Utica on Oct. 17/15 against Hartford and made his NHL debut March 25/18 against Dallas. This season, Sautner has nine points (2G, 7A) in 60 games with the Moose.
Another Career Mark
Danny Zhilkin’s productive finish to the season continued last night with his sixth assist of the season. That sets a new career mark for Zhilkin, giving the centreman career highs in goals (3), assists and points (9). The Moscow, Russia native has all but one of his points over the past 18 games and has recorded a point in every other game over the past seven outings with four points (1G, 3A) in that span. Zhilkin appeared in his 94th AHL game yesterday. The Winnipeg Jets third round pick in 2022 has 16 points (5G, 11A) in his AHL career.
In the Hunt
Brad Lambert tallied his seventh goal of the season, and third in the past six games in last night’s defeat. Lambert is up to 35 points (7G, 28A) in 60 games this season. The Lahti, Finland product ranks third on the Moose in scoring, just one point back of Dominic Toninato and Mason Shaw for the team lead. If Lambert is able to gain the team-lead, or at least earn a share of the lead, he would be just the fourth player in franchise history to lead the team in scoring in consecutive seasons after Seth Griffith (2018-20), Brandon Reid (2002-04) and Bill Bowler (1998-00).
Roster Moves
The Winnipeg Jets announced today the team reassigned goaltender Thomas Milic from the Moose to the organization’s ECHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals. Milic has played 21 games for the Moose this season, posting a 5-12-3 record with a 3.44 goals-against average and .877 save percentage. The Coquitlam, B.C. product has 54 AHL games to his name, holding a 24-121-5 record with a 3.01 GAA, .891 SV% and one shutout. The Moose also announced the team signed goaltender Alex Worthington to an amateur tryout agreement. Worthington posted a 22-18-2 record, supported by a 2.99 goals-against average and .902 save percentage in 42 games with the WHL’s Edmonton Oil Kings this season. The Waldheim, Sask. native also appeared in two playoff contests with Edmonton, picking up a 1-1 record.

Fabian Wagner picked up his fourth assist of the season in last night’s loss. Wagner has nine of his 11 points (7G, 4A) over the past 17 games. The Nykoping, Sweden product ranks third among Moose rookies in points this season and leads the crew with seven goals. Wagner was a sixth round pick of the Winnipeg Jets in the 2022 NHL Draft.
