The Manitoba Moose (23-38-3-3) are back at it against the Chicago Wolves (34-28-4-0) this afternoon. Puck drop at Canada Life Centre is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT. The Moose battled back to earn a point in a 4-3 overtime loss to Chicago yesterday. Manitoba has dropped four straight games following the overtime defeat. The Wolves have wins in two consecutive following the extra-time victory.
It's the Autism Acceptance game at Canada Life Centre, in support of St.Amant Foundation. The afternoon will feature reduced lighting and visual effects, along with an available quiet room for those who need a break from the sights and sounds of the game. Fans hoping to support St.Amant can purchase a reversible moose plush toy on the concourse for $10, with the proceeds supporting St.Amant Foundation autism programs. Career Mark for the Captain
Dominic Toninato tallied his second multi-point game of the past three outings with two assists yesterday. It was Toninato’s eighth multi-point game of the season and second two-assist contest. The duo of dimes gives the Moose captain 17 on the season which marks a new career high. It also gets Toninato to 35 points (18G, 17A) in 57 games which matches the career high he set in 2022-23. The Duluth, Minn. product is tied with Mason Shaw for the team lead in points.
Danny’s Dishing
Danny Zhilkin tallied his fifth assist of the season in yesterday’s action. The helper matches Zhilkin’s rookie total from the 2023-24 season. It also pushes him to eight points (3G, 5A) on the campaign which is a new career high for the forward. The Moscow, Russia product has three points (1G, 2A) his past six games, and seven of his eight points on the season were recorded the previous 16 games. Zhilkin has seven shots on goal over the past three games, one off his best three-game total this season.
New Plateau
Elias Salomonsson reached a new plateau yesterday with his 20th assist of the season. The rookie defender reached the mark in 48 games, and is tied for second on the Moose with Mason Shaw. The Skellefteå, Sweden product ranks 10th among AHL rookie defenders in assists and points. He ranks sixth among the freshman class of defencemen with a 0.52 points per game average (min 10GP). Salomonsson’s 25 points (5G, 20A) are tied for the team lead among defencemen with Dylan Coghlan, and he leads Manitoba rookies in points.
We’re the Baaaaaad Guys
The Moose come into tonight’s action third in the AHL with 1014 penalty minutes on the campaign. Despite being shorthanded eight times yesterday, the Moose have taken the 13th most minors in the league. The two teams with more penalty minutes, Laval and Tucson, each rank third and fifth respectively. With Tyson Empey reaching a career-high 101 penalty minutes yesterday, the Moose now have four players with over 100 PIMs (Liwiski - 140, Bauer - 103, Shaw - 103, Empey -101). It’s the first time since the 2007-08 campaign Manitoba has had four players clear the century mark. That season saw Mike Brown, Zack Fitzgerald, Nathan McIver and P.C. Labrie each post over 100 PIMs.

C.J. Suess nabbed his 10th goal of the season in yesterday’s contest. The tally marks the fourth consecutive season Suess reached double-digits and fifth time in his career. The Forest Lake, Minn. product appeared in his 300th game as a member of the Moose yesterday, becoming the 11th player in franchise history to reach the mark with the team.
