Going Back-to-Back

Manitoba stands with a record of 5-1-0-0 in the second game of back-to-back situations on the road this season. When the Moose are playing twice in a row overall, forward Alex Limoges leads the squad with 11 points (3G, 8A). He’s followed closely by defenceman Declan Chisholm, who has tallied 10 points (2G, 8A). Between the pipes, the Moose are led by Oskari Salminen, who has a 6-2-0 record along with a 2.46 goals-against average, .917 save percentage and one shutout.

Czech it Out

Kristian Reichel recorded a first period goal in Manitoba’s loss yesterday evening. Reichel, who was re-signed to a two-year deal with Winnipeg in 2022, has tallied 12 points (4G, 8A) in 38 games. The forward’s eight assists ties a previous career-high, which Reichel achieved in both 2021-22 and 2018-19. The Litvinov, Czechia product has accumulated 64 points (29G, 35A) in 191 career AHL games, all with Manitoba. Reichel has also fired 69 shots on goal so far this season, which represents a new career-high. The winger has one assist in two NHL games with Winnipeg this season.

Points on the Board

Leon Gawanke tallied a primary assist in last night’s contest. The helper was the defenceman’s 10th of the campaign, which makes him the first Moose to record double-digit totals in both goals and assists this season. It was Gawanke’s 90th point of his AHL career. Those 90 points have come in the form of 26 goals and 64 assists over the course of 178 games, all with Manitoba. The Berlin, Germany product has also racked up five power play goals and three game-winning tallies this season, both of which are new career-highs for the defender. Gawanke sits seventh all-time in points among Moose blue liners and ranks fifth in goals.

Century Mark

The next time Simon Lundmark hits the ice it will be for his 100th AHL game. Over his Moose career, Lundmark has tallied 27 points (6G, 21A) in 99 career games and sits with two multi-point outings. The defenceman, who was drafted by Winnipeg in the second round in 2019, has currently recorded 13 points (2G, 11A) through 42 games of his second AHL campaign. The Stockholm, Sweden product set a new career-high in assists and is currently one point shy of equaling his rookie output from 2021-22. The defender is also shooting at a career-best 5.1% clip.
