The Big Short
Parker Ford scored his second shorthanded goal of the season on Sunday night, and his second goal in as many games. The Providence College alum previously registered the first shorthanded tally of his career on Oct. 12 against the Iowa Wild. He becomes the first Moose skater to record multiple shorthanded goals this season, and one of just 20 players league-wide to do so. The tally serves as Ford’s sixth of the season; tied for first on the team, alongside Mason Shaw and Nikita Chibrikov. He previously recorded 18 goals and 41 points as a rookie during the 2023-24 campaign and was fourth in goals on the Moose roster that season.
Setup Man
Brad Lambert recorded an assist on the game-winning goal in Sunday’s matchup; his third primary assist in the past two games. This is the fifth time Lambert recorded points in back-to-back games this season, and the 25th time in his 104-game AHL career. The Finnish forward currently leads the Moose in points (15) and assists (12). With eight of his helpers being primary points, he also leads the club in primary assists. The sophomore skater is also fourth amongst all Finnish AHL players in assists. Lambert previously led the Moose with 55 points (21G, 34A) as a rookie during the 2023-24 season, including 17 primary helpers.
Streakin’
Dylan Anhorn recorded an assist in Sunday’s win. The Calgary native is currently riding a three-game point streak, and has recorded four assists through his past five outings. This marks the longest point streak by a Moose defender this season, and makes Anhorn just the seventh Moose skater to record a point streak of three or more games on the campaign. The St. Cloud State alum has posted seven points (2G, 5A) so far this season, and is second on the team in rookie points and assists.
Perfect Timing
Nikita Chibrikov scored the game-winning goal for the Moose in the final 90 seconds of Sunday’s contest. The tally serves as the first game-winning goal of Chibrikov’s AHL career, excluding shootout-winners. He becomes the fifth Moose skater to record a game-winning goal this season. The Russian winger has recorded 14 points (6G, 8A), and co-leads the team in goals, alongside Parker Ford and Mason Shaw. Chibrikov registered 17 goals and 47 points during the 2023-24 season and was fifth on the team in goals that season.
Who's Trending?
C.J. Suess recorded an assist in Sunday’s win over the Wranglers. The veteran forward has eight points (5G, 3A), and is one of just four Moose skaters to have appeared in each of the club’s first 29 games, alongside Mason Shaw, Parker Ford and Axel Johnson-Fjällby. Suess is one of five Manitoba forwards with five or more goals on the campaign.
