Fast Facts: Moose vs. Grand Rapids – March 4

The Manitoba Moose (18-30-1-2) open their four-game home stand with an early matchup against the Grand Rapids Griffins (28-20-4-2). Puck drop at Canada Life Centre is 10:30 a.m. CT. The Moose posted a 3-2-1-0 record on their six-game road swing through Eastern Canada after a 2-1 shootout loss in Toronto on Saturday. The Griffins dropped a 3-2 decision, also in a shootout, in Iowa on Saturday and are 3-5-1-1.

Today marks the second Project 11 School Day game of the season as thousands of students from across Manitoba will take in today's game. Another Trip Around the Sun

Domenic DiVincentiis celebrates his 21st birthday today. DiVincentiis is one of five goaltenders under the age of 21 to play in the AHL this season and has the third-most appearances among the group. The Bolton, Ont. product allowed just one goal in each of his past starts. DiVincentiis stopped 51 of 53 shots in two games against the Toronto Marlies for a .962 save percentage, while picking up three of four points. The Winnipeg Jets 2022 seventh round pick is 7-6-1 this season with a 2.46 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage.

Working Overtime

Prior to Feb. 23, the Moose had only been past regulation in five games. Since then, three of the past four games have required extra time to sort out. The Moose went 2-1 in those contests, winning back-to-back overtime games (Feb. 23/26) and falling in Saturday’s shootout. Manitoba is 3-1 in overtime this season, while posting a 2-2 mark in the shootout. Dominic Toninato leads the team with two overtime goals, with Dylan Anhorn scoring the team’s third OT winner. Five of Manitoba’s eight overtime games have been against out of division opposition.

Streakin’

Dominic Toninato picked up an assist against Toronto, pushing his point streak to four games. It’s Toninato’s longest run since a five-game point streak from April 2-13, 2024. The Moose captain has five points (3G, 2A) over the streak and saw a three-game goal streak come to an end on Saturday. Toninato also recorded 26 penalty minutes over his past two games, accounting for 44 percent of his penalty minutes on the season. The Duluth, Minn. product leads the Moose with four game-winning goals this season.

Roster Moves

The Winnipeg Jets reassigned Jaret Anderson-Dolan to the Moose on Saturday. Anderson-Dolan had nine points (3G, 6A) over his previous 14 games prior to the recall. Overall, the Calgary, Alta. native has 13 points (5G, 8A) in 38 contests. Anderson-Dolan enters today’s contest with 92 points (39G, 53A) in his AHL career. Saturday also saw the Moose sign forward Colson Gengenbach to an amateur tryout agreement. Gengenbach led the University of Calgary Dinos this season with 29 points (14G, 15A) in 29 games. Over his four seasons with the Dinos, Gengenbach posted 98 points (48G, 50A) in 114 games. The Edmonton, Alta. product was named a Canada West conference Second Team All-Star for his efforts this season.

Mason Shaw scored his 11th goal of the season on Saturday, keeping pace with Dominic Toninato for second on the team in scoring. Shaw is up to 23 points (11G, 22A) while playing in all 51 games for the Moose this season. The Wainwright, Alta. product is closing in on an assist milestone with 90 helpers in his AHL career.
