The Manitoba Moose (19-30-1-2) go for another twirl with the Grand Rapids Griffins (28-21-4-2) this evening. Puck drop at Canada Life Centre is 7 p.m. CT. The Moose have points in four of their past five games following yesterday’s 5-2 win against the Griffins. Manitoba moved within nine points of a playoff spot with the win. Setting the Pace
Mason Shaw picked up a pair of assists yesterday to jump into a tie with Brad Lambert for the team scoring lead. The pair have 25 points on the campaign with Shaw holding 11 goals and 14 assists. The Wainwright, Alta. product has points in three consecutive games, notching four points (1G, 3A) in that span. Shaw’s two helpers bring him up to 92 in his AHL career as the forward gets set to play his 250th game the next time he hits the ice. The 2017 Minnesota Wild fourth round draft pick also sits at 146 points (54G, 92A) in his AHL career.

Moose defenceman Elias Salomonsson was on the ice for all five Moose goals on Tuesday. Salomonsson posted a plus-four rating in the contest. That mark was not only the rookie defender’s best of the season, but the team’s best single game plus/minus rating of the campaign. Salomonsson tallied his 17th assist of the season in the win, giving him points in three of his past four games with five assists in that span. The Skellefteå, Sweden product is up to 20 points on the campaign, leading Moose defencemen and rookies in scoring. Salomonsson is tied for 11th among AHL rookie defencemen in points.
Keeping On, Keeping On
Jaret Anderson-Dolan was back in the Moose lineup on Tuesday after spending a week with the Winnipeg Jets. The centre picked up right where he left off with the Moose, recording two assists in the victory. Anderson-Dolan has 11 points (3G, 8A) over his past 15 games with Manitoba, including two multi-point games in his previous four outings. The Calgary, Alta. product is cruising toward 100 points in his AHL career with 94 points (39G, 55A) in 154 games.
Giving Them Fits
Moose goaltenders Domenic DiVincentiis and Kaapo Kähkönen have been rock-solid against the Griffins this season. The duo has allowed a combined eight goals over five games of action in the season series, amounting to a 1.62 goals-against average and a .943 save percentage. Breaking it down between the goalies, Kähkönen holds a 2-1-0 record with a 1.35 goals-against average and a .949 save percentage against the Griffins this season. DiVincentiis is 1-1-0 with a 2.04 goals-against average and a .934 save percentage. The duo has held the Griffins off the scoreboard in nine of the combined 15 periods they have played against their divisional rival.

Dominic Toninato continues to rack up points. Toninato scored his 13th goal of the season yesterday to extend his point streak to five games. The Duluth, Minn. product has six points (4G, 2A) over the span and has scored five goals through his past seven outings. Toninato is third on the Moose with 24 points (13G, 11A) in 42 games.
