The Manitoba Moose host the Texas Stars at Canada Life Centre today after nearly a week off game action. The Moose dropped their previous outing, 5-2 to the Milwaukee Admirals, snapping a three-game win streak. Today's Manitoba Made game is a celebration of the things that make our province unique. Live music and curling on the concourse, along with a Manitoba-themed sticker pack giveaway and free perogies are some of the highlights of today's game. Heating Up in the Cold

The Moose have been a busy club, playing nine games thus far through November. No player has been on more a tear through that span than defenceman Ville Heinola. The Finnish defender has nine points (1G, 8A) in nine contests and leads the team in shots on goal with 36 in the month. Of Heinola’s nine points, seven have been primary assists. He’s also tied for the November team lead with a plus-three rating. The defenceman was drafted 20th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

Bring the Fans to Their Feet

The Manitoba Moose have been treated well by the friendly confines of Canada Life Centre. The squad has a home record of 5-2-0-0 so far in the 2021-22 campaign and is led in scoring by a pair of players. Cole Perfetti paces the forwards with seven points (3G, 4A) in seven games at home. Perfetti has been especially dangerous on the man advantage with four of his seven home points coming by way of the power play. The blueline is anchored by Declan Chisholm. The Bowmanville, ON, product checks in with seven points of his own (2G, 5A) in seven games played.

Tracking Trends

The Moose are 16 games into the 2021-22 season and trends are beginning to emerge. The Moose have five wins at home entering this weekend’s pair of games. Declan Chisholm leads the way with seven points (2G, 5A) in those wins with both Cole Perfetti and Leon Gawanke nipping at his heels for the team lead. In the two home losses on the season, forward Kristian Reichel paces the squad with three points (1G, 2A). The Czech forward also performs best in games taking place between 1-4 p.m. at Canada Life Centre. Reichel leads the team with four points (1G, 3A) in four matinee home games taking place between those times. Between the pipes, Arvid Hom, who is in his first year with the Moose, is a  perfect 2-0-0 at home this season and has made 44 saves on the 49 shots he has faced.

Roster Moves

On Tuesday afternoon the Moose made a pair of roster changes. Forward Bobby Lynch was assigned to the Newfoundland Growlers and defenceman Hayden Shaw was sent to the Trois-Rivieres Lions. Lynch has two assists in six games with the Moose this season and has 10 points (4G, 6A) in 36 career AHL games. Shaw has one assist in one game with the Moose on the campaign. The Hamilton, Mont. product has seven points (2G, 5A) in 31 career AHL games all with the Moose.

Who's Trending?

Forward Kristian Reichel checked in with two points (1G, 1A) in Manitoba’s 5-2 loss against Milwaukee on Sunday. The Czech Republic native is up to eight points (3G, 5A) in 16 games. The forward has been heating up and has five points (2G, 3A) in his last four games. Reichel was  signed by the Winnipeg Jets to a two-year, entry-level contract in 2020.
