Jets Sign Toninato to Two-Year, Two-Way Contract

The Winnipeg Jets announced today they have signed forward Dominic Toninato to a two-year, two-way contract with an average annual in the NHL of $775,000.

Toninato, 29, played five games for the Jets this season and recorded one assist and two penalty minutes. The Duluth, Minn. native also played 50 games for the Moose and had 35 points (19G, 16A) and 24 PIMs. Toninato has played 169 NHL games, including 84 for Winnipeg, and he has posted 30 points (12G, 18A) and 73 PIMs in the league. He has also featured in six NHL playoff games and scored one goal for the Jets in the 2021 postseason.

Toninato, a fifth-round pick (126th overall) in the 2012 NHL Draft, played four years for his hometown University of Minnesota-Duluth before making his professional debut in 2017-18 with the Colorado Avalanche organization.

The Moose begin their quest for the Calder Cup in the Central Division Semifinals at Canada Life Centre. Game 1 of the series takes place Friday, April 28 with a 7 p.m. CT puck drop. Game 2 is scheduled for Sunday, April 30 at 2 p.m. CT.
