The Winnipeg Jets announced today the team reassigned forwards Jeffrey Viel and Henri Nikkanen to the Manitoba Moose. The Jets also announced that defenceman Elias Salomonsson was reassigned to Skelleftea of the Swedish Hockey League.

Viel, 26, recorded 31 points (15G, 16A) in 60 games this past season with the San Jose Barracuda. The forward also suited up in four games with the San Jose Sharks and registered two penalty minutes. Viel has tallied 93 points (45G, 48A) over the span of 212 career AHL games, all with the Barracuda.

Nikkanen, 22, tallied 16 points (5G, 11A) through 66 games with the Moose in 2022-23. The centre also appeared in five postseason Moose contests. Nikkanen was a fourth round draft pick (113th) overall of the Winnipeg Jets in 2019.

Today’s transaction brings the current Moose roster to 33 players.
