The Manitoba Moose (5-3-0-1) vie for their fourth straight win as they host the Cleveland Monsters (3-6-0-0) tonight at 7 p.m. in the final match of their two-game series.

Manitoba’s roster has a new look heading into tonight after Nic Petan was called up to the Winnipeg Jets on Friday. In fact, it’s been a week of roster shuffling as both Julian Melchiori and Andrew Copp are up with the big club, while the Moose brought in Darcy Murphy and Jiri Fronk from the Tulsa Oilers (ECHL).

Throwing it back to Thursday

Thursday’s game between the Moose and Monsters was a night of firsts as both Murphy and Peter Stoykewych scored their first career AHL goals, helping the Moose to a solid 7-3 win over Cleveland.

Strong in the Net

Manitoba’s goaltending tandem of Eric Comrie and Ondrej Pavelec has served the team well in the early going. No matter who is in the crease tonight, the numbers are in their favour. Ondrej Pavelec is 2-0 on home ice this year, while Comrie has been strong in third periods, only surrendering one goal in the final 20 minutes this season.

The Other Guys

The offensive wealth has been spread amongst the Monsters roster as four players sit with six points or better through the first nine games. Alex Broadhurst chipped in two assists on Thursday for a team leading eight points (3G, 5A). AHL veteran Cody Goloubef added a goal against Manitoba, giving him seven points (2G, 5A) this season.

Staying Warm

Tonight’s game is the Manitoba Moose’s Share the Warmth clothing drive, presented by Red River Co-op, in support of Siloam Mission. Fans attending Saturday’s game are encouraged to donate winter clothing items including jackets, gloves, mitts, toques and scarves.  The items will be distributed to those in need this winter.

What’s Next?

Manitoba will practice for the next few days and then head out on a five-game road trip, starting in San Diego for a double header with the Gulls (Nov. 11, 12). To hear all Manitoba Moose road games, head to moosehockey.com/listenlive.
