The Manitoba Moose had a third period to remember against the Rockford IceHogs on Saturday afternoon at the MTS Centre.

After entering the third period deadlocked in a 1-1 tie, the Moose scored three goals in just 2:38 of game time to blow the game wide open and end with a 5-1 victory over their division rivals.

Austen Brassard led the way with a two goal day while Brendan Lemieux recorded the first two points of his AHL career with a goal and an assist.

The other goals were from Scott Kosmachuk, who scored his team leading 18th of the season, and Sean Escobedo who scored his first while in a Moose uniform.

Dan DeSalvo extended his point streak to five games with an assist.

Eric Comrie was named the game’s first star with an incredible 32 save performance as he picked up the win in the Moose net.

Manitoba now leads the season series 3-0-0-0 over Rockford with one game to play.

The Moose will play their final home game of the season in the rematch against the IceHogs on Sunday afternoon at the MTS Centre. Puck drop is scheduled for 2 p.m.
