Following a quick two-game homestand, the Manitoba Moose (7-7-1-1) begin a three-game road trip this evening (6:00 p.m. CST) with a stop in Milwaukee to battle the Admirals (12-2-1-1).

Last Series

Manitoba came out on the wrong end of a couple of tight affairs this week (Nov. 22, 23) dropping both games to the Iowa Wild. Tuesday’s game was a nail biter as the two teams were scoreless heading into overtime. Unfortunately, a quick Teemu Pulkkinen shot gave the Wild the overtime victory. Wednesday was different story with the same result as Manitoba allowed two early goals and were never able to recover, dropping a 3-1 decision.

Flash Back

The Moose took the season series in 2015-16 boasting a 4-3-0-1 record over Milwaukee. Luckily for the Moose, Chase De Leo returns from his stint with the Winnipeg Jets. The California product registered six points (5G, 1A) in eight contests against the Admirals last season.

Back in the Lineup

Quinton Howden made his return on Wednesday (Nov.23) night against Iowa after arriving in Winnipeg only hours before puck drop. During his time with the big club, Howden played in five games and was a plus one. The Oak Bank, MB product was a force for the Moose earlier this season, registering nine points (7G, 2A) in 11 games.

Tight Games

The Milwaukee Admirals are off on the right foot this season, grabbing 12 wins through their first 16 games – good for second place in the AHL standings. While all victories in the standings result in two points, the scoresheet tells a very different story. Of their 12 wins, the Admirals have won 11 of them by two goals or less - including nine one goal victories. So, while Milwaukee may not score a pile of goals (16th most in AHL), they don’t let a lot in either (3rd least in AHL). As a result, one should expect a tight affair between these division rivals this evening.

What’s Next?

It’s a quick turnaround for the Manitoba Moose as they’ll face another Central Division foe in the Chicago Wolves on Sunday afternoon (4:00 p.m. CST). To listen to all Manitoba Moose road games, head online to moosehockey.com/listenlive.
