Moose aim to finish road trip with win
By: Manitoba Moose Staff | Published: November 30th 2016The Manitoba Moose (9-7-1-1) look to tie a bow on their road trip as they vie for their third straight win when they battle the Rockford IceHogs (10-7-1-1) this evening at 7:00 p.m. CT.
Last Game
Coming off a 4-3 OT win on Saturday (Nov. 26) in Milwaukee, the Moose found themselves against a familiar foe in the Chicago Wolves on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 27). It was a tight battle all game with Manitoba pulling out a 2-1 victory featuring a 26 save performance from former Wolves’ goalie, Ondrej Pavelec.
Flash Back
The Manitoba Moose will look to draw on last season’s success tonight as the Moose went a perfect 4-0 against Rockford in 2015-16. A couple Moose forwards have good memories from Manitoba and Rockford’s two-game series last season (Feb. 17,19). Patrice Cormier lit the lamp three times for a hat-trick on Feb. 17 helping the Moose to a 5-2 win. JC Lipon was also a force during the two-game set as he picked up three points (2G, 1A) against the IceHogs.
Back on Track
After coming out of the gate strong and registering 10 points (3G, 7A) in 10 games, rookie Jack Roslovic had cooled off as of late. But things appear to be headed in the right direction for Roslovic as he picked up three points (2G, 1A) over the weekend (Nov. 26,27), including a goal in both games. The Columbus, OH product leads the Moose with 13 points (5G, 8A) and is second on the team in shots with 45, two behind Kevin Czuczman‘s 47. Roslovic has proven to score in bunches as he has six two-point games this season.
Rockford’s Story
Through 19 games this season, Rockford has seven wins and finds themselves in seventh in the Central Division. A playoff team a year ago, the IceHogs have just 43 goals – 28th in the AHL. Both Spencer Abbott and Mark McNeill are leading the charge for Rockford as they have 12 points respectively this season (5G, 7A and 3G, 9A).
