A Letter From Pascal Vincent

THANK YOU, MANITOBA

Our Manitoba journey began exactly 10 years ago in July of 2011, when I was offered an assistant coaching position with the Winnipeg Jets.  A great adventure began as our family quickly packed up our lives in Montreal and headed west to Winnipeg so I could pursue my NHL dream.

When we first arrived, we knew very little about Winnipeg, but it did not take long for us to embrace the prairie life and enjoy the “Friendly Manitoba” atmosphere. With our daughter part of the school system and my wife working in the health field, it was a perfect fit for our little family.  We are incredibly appreciative for how this community has welcomed, accepted, loved, and supported our family and have become proud Manitobans ourselves over the past 10 years.

On a professional level, I am proud of what we have accomplished with the Manitoba Moose over the last five years. It was an honour and a privilege to assist these young professional athletes in their development, as they pursue their own NHL dreams, and to provide guidance in life in general. We have had special groups of players and, while our bonds will remain strong forever, I will sincerely miss working with them on a daily basis.

As we embark on a new adventure with the Columbus Blue Jackets, I will take the experiences and lessons I have learned throughout my career with me, but please know that a big part of that comes from my time in Winnipeg. The city, its people, the fans, the players, the Jets and Moose staff, the ownership, the management, everyone at True North; have all left such a positive and strong impression on me.  Beautiful Manitoba, we will miss your sunsets, the long summer evenings, the prairies, but mostly the people. It might be cold in Manitoba during those long winters, but it’s the warmest place our family has ever been.

Sincerely,

Pascal Vincent
