Five for Finland’s Own

Ville Heinola posted five points (1G, 4A) in Manitoba’s win over Texas on Friday. The five-point outing is a single-game career-high for Heinola. It’s the 12th time in Moose franchise history the feat has been achieved and just the third time by a defenceman. Heinola also notched his 100th career AHL point which occurred on Heinola’s third assist. Heinola is the eighth defender in Moose history to reach the century mark. The Honkajoki, Finland product is now up to 27 points (10G, 17A) in 40 games and has hit the double-digit goal plateau for the first time. The 2019 Winnipeg Jets first round selection ranks ninth in Moose scoring and is shooting at a career-best 11.2 percent clip.

Czech This Out

Kristian Reichel posted three points (2G, 1A) in Manitoba’s contest versus Texas. It’s the fourth time this season Reichel tallied a trio of points in a single contest. The centre, who was recently named Manitoba’s most valuable player, has produced 11 points (6G, 5A) over his past six games. Reichel’s 11 points are tied for the AHL lead in points for the Month of April. The Litvinov, Czech Republic native has registered 42 points (23G, 19A) in 70 games and leads the Moose in goal-scoring. Reichel has set new career-high marks in games played, goals, assists, points and plus-minus. The pivot has notched 118 points (57G, 61A) in 284 career games, all with Manitoba.

Draft Class of '23 Represent

Barlow is now up to two points (1G, 1A) and a plus-one rating through two games with the Moose. Levis, a 2023 seventh round Winnipeg selection, finished the game with an even-rating. Keeping Track of History

The Moose tied a franchise record by scoring eight goals in a road contest. It’s the third time in franchise history that the feat has occurred, with the previous outing coming in an 8-1 victory in Rockford in 2017. Manitoba also matched a franchise record with five power play markers in a single game. The previous occurrence was when the club was the St. John’s IceCaps in 2014. The three power play goals in the third also matched a record for most man-advantage goals in a period. It is the eighth time that has happened and was previously recorded in 2015.
