The Moose are hoping their luck turns in today's Friday the 13th matchup against the Texas Stars. It's a rematch of Wednesday's contest that saw the Moose fall 3-1 to the Stars. Texas scored the first three goals of the game on the way to the victory.

Goaltender Mikhail Berdin didn't finish that game. After allowing three goals on 13 shots in the opening 40 minutes, Griffen Outhouse came in to close things out in the third. The last time Outhouse came in to finish a game, Berdin responded with shutouts on consecutive nights. He then went on to allow just six goals over seven games. The Moose goalie feels it's important to just move on from a tough outing.

"I just don't think about what happened yesterday or a couple weeks ago. I just focus on the next day," said Berdin. "I just forget. It's a new day... new everything, you know?"

The Moose will look to provide their goaltender with some offensive support tonight. The team has scored just three goals over its past two games. Manitoba was in danger of being shut out on Wednesday until Jansen Harkins scored with just 2:24 remaining. That put a positive stamp on what was a stronger third period for the Moose. The team generated 11 shots on goal and spent most of their time while at even strength in the Stars' zone. Unfortunately for Manitoba, Texas spent eight minutes on the power play in the third.

Which brings us to the penalty kill. It was stellar on Wednesday, taking care of all seven opportunities the Stars had on the power play. That contest was the third time this season the Moose had a perfect night on the penalty kill when facing five or more power plays against. In four games against Texas this season, the Moose have killed off all 17 Stars power plays. On the flip side, though, Manitoba only has two power play goals on a similar 17 chances with the power play.

Tonight's game kicks off a back-to-back for the Moose. They'll travel to San Antonio following their matchup with the Stars and take on the Rampage tomorrow.
