The Manitoba Moose and Grand Rapids Griffins clash this evening (6 p.m. CT) in a rematch of last night's thriller at Van Andel Arena. The Griffins held on to win 4-3 in a 10-round shootout. The Moose erased a three-goal deficit in the third to garner a point in the loss. Manitoba has points in five of the past six games. Nose for the Net

Nikita Chibrikov potted a third period goal last night in Grand Rapids. The forward, a 2021 Winnipeg second round pick, is now up to 14 tallies on the campaign and leads the Moose in that department. The Moscow, Russia native has notched 32 points (14G, 18A) in 41 games and ranks second in overall Moose scoring. The winger is also tied for first on the team with five goals on the power play, while his eight power play helpers rank him second. Chibrikov has produced against Grand Rapids this season, recording five goals through five meetings. The forward is currently tied for fourth overall in the AHL’s rookie scoring race.

Century Mark

Henri Nikkanen suited up in his 100th career AHL contest last night. Nikkanen made his AHL debut with the Moose on April 24/22 at Milwaukee. The 2019 Winnipeg Jets fourth round selection notched 16  points (5G, 11A) in his first 100 outings. The Mikkeli, Finland product, who signed a three-year entry-level contract with Winnipeg in 2022, owns one three-point AHL contest, which came against Grand Rapids on Feb. 20/23. The pivot posted three assists in a 5-1 Manitoba victory.

Ring Them Up

Kyle Capobianco notched an assist in last night’s game. The Mississauga, Ont. native, who recently represented the Moose alongside teammate Brad Lambert at the 2024 AHL All-Star Classic, is now up to 33 points (7G, 26A) in 40 games. Capobianco’s 33 points currently tie him with Brandt Clarke for first in AHL defencemen scoring. Capobianco, who inked a two-year contract with Winnipeg in 2022, is two assists away from matching his previous career-high. The defender, who is closing in on 200 career AHL games, is also four points shy of tying his previous career-high of 37, which he set back in 2019-20 with Tucson. Capobianco has registered 145 total points (28G, 117A) in 195 career AHL contests.

Chipping In

Parker Ford produced an assist against Grand Rapids yesterday. The forward, who inked a two-year entry-level contract with Winnipeg in 2023, has registered 21 points (8G, 13A) through 42 games in his first full AHL season. Ford is the third rookie skater on the Moose roster this season to break the 20-point plateau and ranks fifth on the team in overall scoring. The Wakefield, RI. product also stands third among the squad’s first-year players in scoring and is currently tied alongside C.J. Suess for first on the Moose with three game-winning goals in the campaign.

Kristian Reichel notched a goal in Manitoba’s shootout loss yesterday. The Litvinov, Czech Republic product is currently in the midst of a career-long seven-game point streak and has tallied seven points (5G, 2A) over that span. The forward scored his 10th of the season, which marks him two away from matching his career high of 12 goals set in 2019-20.
