The Manitoba Moose try to build on a 4-1 win last night as they rematch with the Grand Rapids Griffins this evening. The Moose scored four unanswered goals in the third period on the way to the victory. Manitoba outshot Grand Rapids by a 33-24 margins on the way to earning two points. Building the Streak

Jansen Harkins tallied two points (1G, 1A) including the game-winning tally in yesterday’s win over Grand Rapids. The North Vancouver, B.C. product has points in three straight games, and has recorded at least a point in 13 of 15 games. Harkins, who was drafted in the second round by Winnipeg in 2015, is now up to 17 points (8G, 9A) through 15 games. The forward’s two points have Harkins at 99 points (35G, 64A) through 171 career AHL games, all with Manitoba. In addition, Harkins netted his fourth game-winning tally of the season yesterday, which matches his previous career-high from the 2018-19 campaign.

Spark from the Blue Line

Dean Stewart tallied a pair of assists in the third period of Manitoba’s win over Grand Rapids. The first assist was the 10th of the season for the defenceman, which represents the first time he’s reached the double-digit mark in his AHL career. In addition, the pair of points  notes the first multi-point outing of the season for Stewart. It was the third time in his AHL career the defenceman tallied two assists in a single contest. The Moose won all three of those games. Stewart, a former Arizona Coyotes seventh round pick, has tallied 21 points (2G, 19A) in 58 career AHL games, all with Manitoba.

Cue the Quartet

The Moose scored four unanswered goals in the third period of last night’s game. It’s the second time this season Manitoba scored four consecutive goals in a single period. The previous occurrence was Oct. 23 when the Moose scored a 6-3 win over Rockford. Overall, the Moose have scored four consecutive goals in seven games this season. The antlered ones have won all seven of those games. Taking it even further, the Moose have scored five consecutive goals in two games this season. The first was that Oct. 23 win, followed by a 6-2 win over Belleville on Dec. 17.

Lending a Helping Hand

Dominic Toninato tallied a pair of primary assists in yesterday’s victory.  Five of Toninato’s eight assists this season are primary helpers. That mark ties him for seventh on the Moose The former fifth round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2012 has four multi-point outings over the span of the campaign. When Toninato tallies at least two points in a single game this season, the antlered ones hold a 4-0-0-0 record. The forward has registered 17 points (9G, 8A) in 27 games this season, which is the second best mark to date of his AHL career.

Alex Limoges set up the Moose win with his 11th goal of the season last night. The forward, who has scored goals in back-to-back contests, leads the Moose with 39 points (11G, 28A) through 41 games. Limoges notched his 100th career AHL point with the third period tally. He achieved the milestone in just 126 games.
