Fast Facts: Moose at Laval – Feb. 26

The Manitoba Moose keep on rolling as they enter tonight's game with a four-game win streak. The club sits atop the Canadian Division standings, but they put that status on the line tonight against the Laval Rocket. Manitoba grabbed a 4-2 win over the Rocket on Wednesday. The Moose try to continue their good fortune tonight when the puck drops at 6 p.m. CT. Staying Out of the Box

During Manitoba’s 4-2 victory against the Rocket on Wednesday, the club finished the game without recording a single penalty minute. This is the fourth time the team has had zero penalty minutes in a game. The last time the club didn’t record a penalty minute during a game was March 6, 2015 vs. Albany (St. John’s). On the other side of special teams, the Moose have elevated their power play. After not scoring on their first seven power play chances, the Moose have scored on three of their last five opportunities with the man-advantage. Ville Heinola, Nathan Todd and Kristian Reichel have each contributed a goal on the power play during the 2020-21 season.

Plenty of Apples

Tyler Graovac recorded three assists in Wednesday’s win against Laval. The centreman currently paces the Moose with seven assists on the 2020-21 season. This is the first time in his pro career that Graovac has recorded three assists during a game. The Brampton, Ont. product is currently tied for the lead in the AHL for most assists on the season thus far. Six of Graovac’s seven helpers on the season are primary assists.

The First 100

Kristian Reichel appeared in his 100th AHL game on Wednesday night against the Rocket. Reichel posted a power play goal during the contest. During his first 100 AHL games, the Litvinov, Czech Republic native has posted 29 points (16G, 13A). Reichel has spent his entire AHL career with the Moose. He is one of just two players on the roster with 100 games in antlers. The second player being Skyler McKenzie who has suited up for the Moose in 111 games.

A Night to Remember

Nathan Todd recorded three points (2G, 1A) during Manitoba’s contest against Laval on Wednesday. With this feat, the centreman marked the first two-goal and three-point game of his AHL career. Todd is riding a five-game point streak (4G, 3A) which is currently tied for the fourth-longest in the AHL this season. The longest point streak of Todd’s career came in the ECHL where he tallied points in eight games consecutive games (Jan. 12/19 - Jan. 30/19).  He recorded 12 points (6G, 6A) during that run as part of the 2018-19 season with the Brampton Beast.
