Drive to Five

Manitoba’s win last night was its fifth consecutive victory. It’s the first time the Moose have won five straight since April 27-May 9, 2021. Since then, Manitoba recorded four four-game winning streaks and five point streaks of five or more games. During the streak the Moose have scored at least four goals in every game, the first time this season the squad tallied four or more goals in consecutive games. The third period has been central to Manitoba’s run. The Moose scored four goals in the third period of three of the past five outings and outscored opposition 16-4 in the final frame over the five games. Manitoba also trailed in the third period in three of the five victories.

Thriving on the Road

The Moose won their third consecutive road game last night. Since Jan. 27, the Moose hold an 8-2-0-1 mark on the road, including two three-game runs. Manitoba hasn’t won four consecutive road outings this season, posting a trio of three-game streaks. The Moose are second in the Central Division with 15 wins and 31 points recorded on the road this season. The club’s overall road record is 15-11-0-1. Forward Brad Lambert leads the Moose with 22 points (10G, 12A) in 25 road games.

Century Mark

Kristian Reichel tallied his 100th career AHL point in yesterday’s win in Iowa. The forward notched two points (1G, 1A) in the third period, with his assist on Simon Lundmark’s empty net goal being marked down as the 100th point. Reichel, who re-signed a two-year contract with Winnipeg in 2022, has tallied 24 points (14G, 10A) in 52 games. With the multi-point outing, his fifth of the season, the forward matched his previous career-high in points and reached the double-digit assist plateau for the second time in his AHL career. Reichel has produced 100 points (48G, 52A) in 266 games, all with Manitoba and is chasing down 50 career AHL tallies.

Over his AHL career, which has seen the defenceman suited up for Utica, Abbotsford and Manitoba, Sautner has tallied 83 points (21G, 62A) in 400 contests. In addition to the 400 AHL contests, Sautner has also played in 23 NHL contests, all with Vancouver, and has registered three assists. The defender has appeared in 119 games with the Moose and tallied 21 points (7G, 14A).
