The Manitoba Moose are back in Milwaukee to face off against the Admirals in a morning tilt (10:30 a.m. CT). The Moose are coming off a 6-3 loss in Iowa that saw the team's season-long five-game winning streak halted. Meanwhile, the Admirals seek a return to the win column following a 7-4 loss against Chicago on Sunday. Manitoba outlasted Milwaukee in a 5-4 thriller the teams' previous meeting on March 6. Coverage of this morning's affair begins at 10:15 a.m. CT on CJOB.com/sports, the Winnipeg Jets App and AHLTV.

On the Scoresheet

Ville Heinola scored a goal in Sunday’s road defeat. The tally was the defenceman’s fifth of the season, which matches his previous career-high set in 2021-22. Heinola, a 2019 Winnipeg Jets first round selection, is also in the midst of a season-long three-game point streak with three points (2G, 1A) in that span. The Honkajoki, Finland native has 12 points (5G, 7A) in 23 games this season and 87 points (18G, 69A) in 134 AHL contests with Manitoba. That mark places Heinola in sole possession of ninth overall in franchise points by a defenceman.

Zooming Up the Board

Brad Lambert produced a trio of points (1G, 2A) in Manitoba’s most recent contest. It’s the second time in his past three games Lambert recorded a three-point contest. The forward is in the midst of a five-game point streak, the second longest mark of his professional career, and has recorded nine points (3G, 6A) in that stretch. The first round pick of the Winnipeg Jets in 2022 is second on the Moose with 40 points (18G, 22A) in 48 games. That mark ties Lambert for third among all AHL rookies and he ranks sixth among first year skaters in goals.

First in Antlers

Dmitry Kuzmin scored his first AHL goal on Sunday in Iowa. The defenceman, who made his AHL debut on Dec. 8 in Calgary, has appeared in 13 contests for Manitoba this season and registered three points (1G, 2A). Prior to scoring his first AHL goal, the Kholstovo, Belarus native skated for the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals and notched seven points (2G, 5A) through 21 games. The defender, a third round pick of Winnipeg in 2021, picked up his first North American professional goal on Nov. 5/23 against the ECHL’s Maine Mariners.

March Madness

The line of Jeff Malott, Brad Lambert and Axel Jonsson-Fjallby has driven play for Manitoba in the month of March. The trio has been paired together seven times this season, with five of those games coming this month. This month, they have combined for 28 total points, accounting for 42 percent of all points recorded by Moose skaters. Each individual player finds himself in the top three on the team in terms of goals, assists, points and plus-minus through March. All three have posted at least a point in every game of the month and are led by Jonsson-Fjallby’s 10 points (3G, 7A) in five contests. Following closely behind are Malott (5G, 4A) and Lambert (3G, 6A), who have each picked up nine points.
