Game Story
The Manitoba Moose (21-27-3-4) put the wraps on a four-game home stand against the San Antonio Rampage (21-29-4-1) on Sunday afternoon.  The teams battled to a stalemate period to get things rolling.  Manitoba put nine shots toward Spencer Martin who turned them all away.  Eric Comrie was sharp at the other end, making eight saves.  Both clubs head two chances on the powerplay, but were unable to convert in the scoreless frame.

After killing off an early penalty, the Moose opened the scoring 2:52 into the period.  Brenden Kichton sent the puck toward the San Antonio goal and Dan DeSalvo redirected it past Spencer Martin.  At the 6:32 mark, Jack Roslovic opened up Chase De Leo in the middle of the ice, giving De Leo the opportunity to fire the puck to the back of the net.  The Moose powerplay connected at 13:34 to build the hosts a 3-0 lead.  Kyle Connor lifted a backhand-saucer pass to Jack Roslovic in the slot for a one-timer to the twine.  San Antonio got one back late in the period with a powerplay of its own as Felix Girard cut the lead to 3-1 with 16 seconds left in the second.

Kyle Connor erased any notion of the Rampage building momentum off the late goal.  The speedy forward accepted a pass from Nelson Nogier in the Moose zone took care of the rest himself.  Hitting the line with speed, Connor created himself some space, picked his spot and flicked the puck past Martin for the 4-1 lead. San Antonio cut into the advantage midway through the period when Rocco Grimaldi’s shot redirected into the Manitoba goal off the body of a Moose defender.  Manitoba didn’t allow the Rampage any closer as the Moose completed the two-game sweep with a second straight 4-2 win.

Quotable
Head Coach Pascal Vincent – “Right from the first faceoff we played a solid game.  We created good scoring chances.  We defended well.  We responded well to the physicality of the game, high emotions on the bench.  Guys were supporting and protecting each other.  I really liked our game.”

Forward Jack Roslovic – “The winning is, in a sense, us moving forward.  We had a good road trip on our last road trip, obviously not in the win column, but just in terms of working hard.  I think stringing together a couple of wins is good for our team’s confidence.”
