Game Story
The Manitoba Moose (25-34-4-5) opened a three-game swing through California against the Bakersfield Condors (30-24-5-1) on Tuesday night.  The hosts opened the scoring eight minutes into the first.  Justin Fontaine found Josh Currie in a good shooting location and Currie made the most of the opportunity, picking his spot.  Bakersfield nearly took a two-goal lead minutes later, but Eric Comrie turned away three shots in quick succession to keep the game within one.  The Moose finished the frame outshooting the Condors 10-9, but trailed 1-0 after 20 minutes.

Newcomer Rob Flick got the visitors on the board 4:45 into the second when he batted an airborne rebound into the net for his first goal with Manitoba.  Just 1:55 later, Jack Roslovic stole the puck in the neutral zone, kept on the ensuing two-on-one and buried his 13th of the season to put the Moose in front 2-1.  Bakersfield replied at 11:43 when Mark Fayne was able to roam in off the blue-line and fire a wrister to the back of the goal, knotting the game 2-2.  With the Moose on a five-on-three powerplay, Patrice Cormier won a battle in front of the Bakersfield net and popped the puck past Jonas Gustavsson to push Manitoba back in front, 3-2.  Comrie was sharp in the period, making 12 stops on 13 shots, including some highlight reel saves in the opening minutes of the frame.  Manitoba carried the 3-2 edge into the third.

After a combined 25 shots between the teams in the second period, the third saw the defence take over.  The squads mustered just 11 shots total in the third, with Comrie only facing six attempts.  That helped Manitoba hold the 3-2 advantage into the final minutes of the game.  The Moose got some valuable insurance when Jimmy Lodge put a perfect pass across for Francis Beauvillier to score his first AHL goal and give Manitoba breathing room at 4-2.  An empty net goal iced the game 34 seconds later as Peter Stoykewych set up Beauvillier for his second of the night into the yawning cage.  Comrie made 26 saves as the Moose skated away with a 5-2 win, claiming the season series with their third win against Bakersfield.
