Game Story
The Manitoba Moose (6-5-0-1) and San Diego Gulls (4-5-1-0) matched up in their fourth and final meeting of the season Saturday night.  The Moose got the scoring going courtesy of Chase De Leo’s shot off the wing trickling past Matt Hackett and into the net seven minutes into the game.  San Diego replied across the midway point of the period off a Nick Tarnasky wrister from the circle.  The Gulls took the lead 20 seconds later on a Brandon Montour rocket from long-range.  The 2-1 score held to the break with the Moose outshooting San Diego 15-13 in the frame.

The second period saw special teams factor in heavily.  With the Moose on the powerplay, Stefan Noesen fed Jordan Samuels-Thomas on a two-on-one for a shorthanded goal to give San Diego a 3-1 edge.  Forty seconds later, De Leo got his second of the night, on the powerplay, by collecting a rebound and putting it to the twine.  The Gulls restored their two goal advantage when Corey Tropp forced a rebound over the line at the 9:30 mark.  The only even strength goal of the period came at 16:14 when Zac Larraza put in an Austen Brassard pass to give San Diego a 5-2 lead after forty minutes.

The Moose cut into the deficit at 6:37 of the third.  Jimmy Lodge took advantage of a scramble in front to pop in his first of the season to make it 5-3.  Into the latter half of the frame, Kevin Roy capitalized on a San Diego powerplay to restore the three goal Gulls lead.  That was all the scoring the third period held as San Diego evened the season series between the clubs, 2-2-0-0, with a 6-3 win.
