Moose Announce Roster Moves
By: Manitoba Moose Staff | Published: January 20th 2018Winnipeg, MB – The Manitoba Moose Hockey Club announced today the team has recalled forward Elgin Pearce from the Jacksonville Icemen (ECHL) and signed forward Garrett Meurs to a professional tryout. The Winnipeg Jets have also reassigned forward Jansen Harkins from the Icemen to the Moose.
Harkins, 20, is in his first full season of professional hockey. The North Vancouver, BC native has eight points (2G, 6A) in 26 games with the Moose this season. The former second round pick also has six points (2G, 4A) in six games with Jacksonville.
Meurs, 25, is in his fifth professional season, sitting second on the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) with 36 points (15G, 21A) in 37 games. The Ripley, Ont. product has 88 games of AHL experience, posting 14 points (6G, 8A) in those contests.
Pearce, 25, is playing in his first full professional campaign and leads Jacksonville in scoring with 29 points (13G, 16A) in 37 games. The University of Calgary alum appeared in three games with the Moose last season, tallying one assist.
The Moose are in action tonight at Bell MTS Place, closing out a six-game home stand against the Texas Stars in a 7 p.m. matchup. Tickets are available at moosehockey.com/tickets.
