The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club, in conjunction with its AHL affiliate, the Manitoba Moose, announced today they have re-assigned defenceman Julian Melchiori to the Moose.

Melchiori, 24, was re-called from Manitoba on Nov. 26 for the second time this season, but didn’t play in either of the Jets’ two games since then. He played in four games with Winnipeg this season during his first recall and has played in 14 games for the Manitoba Moose this season, recording five points (1G, 4A) and eight penalty minutes. The Jets selected Melchiori in the third round, 87th overall at the 2010 NHL Draft. Last season he played in 11 games with the Jets and 62 games with the Moose, registering seven points (3G, 4A).

Meanwhile, the Manitoba Moose, in conjunction with its ECHL affiliate, the Tulsa Oilers, announced the team has re-assigned defenceman Tyson Wilson to the Oilers.

Wilson, 25, was recalled by the Moose on Nov. 26, but did not play any AHL games.  Wilson played in 15 games with the Oilers prior to his call-up, totaling three points (1G, 2A).  Last season, the Brockville, ON native played in three games with the Moose when he signed a tryout agreement following a 145-game career at Robert Morris University (NCAA).

The Manitoba Moose are in action tonight, closing out a three-game road swing against the Rockford IceHogs at 7 p.m. CT.  Tune in to the action live on TSN 1290 and moosehockey.com/listenlive beginning 15 minutes before puck drop.
